Jen Cook Counselling
Hello and welcome.
Sometimes we all need a little extra help.
You may not know what you need, or why you are feeling the way you do.
You don't need a reason to come to counselling.
I understand that reaching out for help can feel overwhelming, I have been in your position too.
You have already taken the first step.
Perhaps you are feeling anxious, lonely, sad or lacking in confidence.
Maybe you feel overwhelmed and disconnected by a loss.
Is work stress or family life making you unhappy and grumpy?
Are you neurodivergent and struggling with neurotypical expectations?
Do you overthink instead of sleeping?
Maybe your age or stage of life has become challenging and not meeting your expectations, whether it be teenagers, empty nesters, toddlers, ageing parents or infertility struggles.
Maybe you just lost your energy and zest for life.
If these sound familiar, you may be noticing negative affects in other areas of your life around sleep, work, health and relationships.
If any of these sound like you, I can help you.

About Me
I am Jen and I am passionate about counselling, its effectiveness and the healing nature it can bring. I reached out for help when life threw me a curve ball and I didn't know how I would manage. Talking helped me
to work through my situation and learn to cope with the affect it was having on me in different areas of my life. I have never looked back.
I would like to help you too.
I have over 15 years experience and have helped hundreds of individuals by supporting them through their challenging situations.
I know the importance of understanding why problems may exist and how to address these by building healthier communication.
I offer a non-judgmental approach where you can explore, understand and make choices with confidence.
I understand the impact of feelings of low self-worth, bruised confidence, low self-esteem and how a lack of trust brings doubt.
My experience offers me first hand insight into your problems.
I have helped my clients to take an in-depth view of themselves, gain an understanding of their communication style and recognise their own needs to move forward.
I have supported my clients to work through difficult feelings, to make good decisions to recover and repair.
I am a warm and friendly qualified accredited counsellor, registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and I am fully insured. I trained at Wealden Institute as a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor.
I offer sessions from my therapy room in Eastbourne, East Sussex and support clients via Google Meet Worldwide.

What to expect
I offer confidential face-to-face sessions in my private, comfortable therapy room in central Eastbourne alongside online sessions via Google Meet, WhatsApp or phone.
I work in a humanistic approach, where you are the expert on yourself and I believe you have the ability to grow and reach your full potential. I support you to explore your difficulties and help you to find the answers yourself.
Your sessions will be led at your pace to your agenda, I will be alongside you.
Our relationship is key to our work together, therefore I offer you a complementary 30 minute consultation where you can tell me about yourself and we will ensure we are a good match. I will gain understanding of your specific issues that brings you to counselling now and what you hope to achieve.
Following this, we will work together for 50 minute sessions, on a weekly basis, either short term (6 - 12 weeks) or longer term. We will review our work together after 6 sessions and ensure we continue to work towards your goals.
We will agree a mutually convenient day and time for the sessions and agree a contract of work with your goals in mind.
